I read the good reviews and had to check it out. For 12 dollars used or 20 dollars new,you can't really go wrong. It has a slightly bigger feel to it too. Compared to the original Sony Dual shock,this one feels a little bigger. So if you have bigger hands,this might have a more comfortable feel for you.. I haven't noticed any lag from playing on it. It was a big plus when I found out you can use it on a PC. It was plug n play compatible. Literally plugged it in,and it was recognized by the computer and ready to use. Works great with emulators too if that's what you're into. I would say this controller has a slight xbox feel to it. Because of it's shape and triggers on the back.. A few downsides though. There is no dual shock. Or no sixaxis. Plus you need to use the included usb dongle. It is not bluetooth. After getting used to the Xbox 360 controller, I had come to prefer its design over the PS3's. PS3 controller felt too small, and those trigger buttons(L2 & R2) were downright awkward. Logitech controller addressed those two problems for me, then some, but it does have its shortcomings. Good: - Body of the controller feels slightly smaller than the Xbox 360 one, just about perfect. Body shape was little strange to me, but once I had it in my hands, it felt completely natural to me. - I like the triggers better than PS3, or even the X360's as far as the placement & button travel are concerned. Bad: - While I love the trigger buttons(L2/R2), they have this super dirt cheap spongy feel to it. Same goes for the other buttons. It wasn't a big deal for me. - It does not have recharge capability through the PS3 console. Two "AA" batteries do last very long time though. - Lacks motion sensor capability. I use it solely for Call of Duty games, and it hasn't become a problem for me yet. But without this feature, this controller is unusable on some games. It's noteworthy that while I was not very gentle with my controller(lol), mine lasted a very long time. It is very durable in my opinion. I would guess it's lasted about two years through heavy uses & some..... abuse. Damn Modern Warfare games, you know how it is! The controlls werent precise enough for me on Call of Duty, but it works just fine for Madden and other sports games. I like the feel of it better than the sony controllers(it's larger)but it's not quite as precise. Great to have when you have friends over. |
